RSS - week 4, thing 9

I had no idea these newsfeeds were out there. I played around with some search sites, and easily found a friend's blog via Technorati by entering his first name plus two fairly common words that I remembered were in his blog title. However, I've searched different sites out of curiosity to see if my family's blog turns up and it doesn't. Maybe it's looking just for tags, which I haven't been using?? You'd think a google blog search would find a blogger blog.

I find it easiest just to copy and paste the URL into the "add" space to add feeds. I've subscribed to a knitting feed I found through Technorati (yarn harlot) plus I'll use this to see when Sarah Dessen comes back from vacation and starts blogging again.

flickr - week 3, thing 7

One problem with technology is that if you've committed to a certain type, you're kind of stuck with it unless you want to deal with some hassle in switching everything over. Like a satellite dish or photo service. I use snapfish for printing and sometimes sharing photos, and blogspot for sharing specifically kid photos and updates. I guess flickr could serve a different purpose; it's really neat but it overlaps with what I already use. I used the map feature to find this photo of Dingle, Ireland, where we honeymooned and for which our orange cat is named. I wish that blogspot had a captioning feature and that you could control more of its layout when positioning photos.
